Thanksgiving yummies. . .

When Pete is home, our usual Thanksgiving is dinner with all of the single guys in his squad who don't have family around. It has been nice 'cause I really like to cook the big Thanksgiving meals and they made sure I didn't have a ton of leftovers. With them gone, we decided to eat at the church. Our ward has a lot of families with someone deployed and quite a few families who are away from relatives for one reason or another. The Bishop decided to have Thanksgiving at the church again. He provided the meat and everyone else just brought potluck. I pretty much made our whole Thanksgiving dinner and took it with us.

We had a TON of food and it was just like being home, well almost. Everyone rushed to stuff themselves the first round because we were all hungry from waiting (we didn't get started until 4pm) and then after a few hours of visiting, playing, laughing, people started wandering over to get seconds or thirds. The little kids just had a blast because they could just walk up and snatch food and pretty much noone noticed or cared. The chapel was closed off but otherwise they had the run of the place. Steel and Reilly were in heaven because they got to run around with noone telling them to quit jumping or be quiet. Matt and Connor were in heaven 'cause they had kids their age to hang with and didn't have to watch Steel and Reilly the whole time. Mom was in heaven 'cause she just got to sit and chat with the ladies for hours with just the baby in her lap. I missed Pete so much but without him here, this is the best Thanksgiving I've had in a long time.
Connor took the pictures and managed to get most everyone with their mouth full. . .hey, it's Thanksgiving, right?

It doesn't look like it, but Cole loved the potatoes and gravy. You'd think Reilly would have a fork figured out by now. Steel chowing down.
Ummm. Meat. His Daddy's genes are showing, ;0), Friends from our ward.
